Global cooperation and alliances are important to America's security and economic prosperity, and the best leverage against China becoming an adversary is economic—aligned democracies and free enterprise countries can tell China they will only trade and invest under a rules-based order, not accepting predatory lending or Belt-and-Road infrastructure takeovers.
